Climate change, the loss of biodiversity and over-consumption of raw materials requires professionals of a new kind with awareness of planetary boundaries, a solution-centric and change-agent’s mindset to lead the change towards a more sustainable future. Our Master's degree in Risk Management and Circular Economy (RiMCE) brings together students with diverse educational, professional, and cultural backgrounds. Collaborative learning in multidisciplinary and intercultural teams give students competence valued in modern working life.

RiMCE is a professional mid-career Master’s degree and requires 2 years (24 months) of documented working experience after Bachelor’s.

Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration as well as other suitable Bachelor’s degrees can apply to the programme. The Bologna educational structure has the Bachelor’s degrees at either 240 or 210 ECTS credits which brings the Master's to either 60 ECTS (MEng) or 90 ECTS credits (MBA).

TAMK has broad expertise in circular economy, excellent network of business partners, and research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities promoting bio- and circular economy. The RiMCE programme operates as a forerunner in circular economy pedagogy providing circular economy theory, viewpoints, and models from practice.

Student selection is based on a pre-task assignment submitted together with your application and an online interview with the academic staff for top candidates. Applicants who have completed their Bachelor´s degree outside of Finland must provide an English language proficiency certificate (see exceptions below). Applicants who do not have to provide the English language proficiency certificate:

  • Applicants who have completed higher education degree in Australia, Canada, the European Union or EEA, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or the United States

List of accepted language tests for the next intake will be published after each summer break.

I had multiple questions that would keep me up at night. I knew I needed to delve into the subject of circular economy and their business models and how I can help create a greener and a more responsible society. This research-oriented attitude is what brought me halfway across the world to Finland to enhance my knowledge and skill in circular economy.
