Conditionally accepted applicants to Tampere University master's programmes

Your Letter of Acceptance will specify whether your offer of admission is conditional or not and what condition applies to you. If your offer is conditional, the documents specified in your letter must reach the Tampere University Admissions Services by 29 May 2026 at 15.00 UTC+3 according to the submission instructions of Tampere University.

If you hold a conditional offer, you are required to submit the officially certified copies of your educational documents (attachments 1-3) to Tampere University Admissions Services according to one of the approved methods, listed below, after the student selection results have been announced.  Instructions on submitting documents can also be found in the Letter of Acceptance. Conditions may not apply if you have submitted officially certified or legalised documents at the time of applying.

Documents must reach the Tampere University Admissions Services by 29 May 2026 at 15.00 UTC+3.

It is important to remember that plain copies uploaded as attachments to the application are not sufficient to remove the document requirement conditions. Be sure to deliver the required documents by the given deadline or your acceptance will be cancelled. We strongly advise that you submit the necessary documents as soon as possible after the results of the student selection are published. For detailed information on what are considered officially certified or legalised documents, see below.

Educational documents to be submitted:

1. An officially certified and/or legalised copy of the original bachelor’s degree certificate in the original language

2. An officially certified and/or legalised copy of the official transcript of records of the bachelor’s degree in the original language

3. Official translation of the bachelor’s degree certificate AND of the transcript of records unless originals have been issued in English, Finnish or Swedish

Please note: If you have applied for an exemption from submitting a language test based on previous studies other than those that provide your eligibility to the master’s programme, you must additionally submit:

4. Officially certified and/or legalised copies of these educational documents in addition to the documents listed above.

Exceptions to submitting documents

Applicants in the final year of their bachelor’s degree due to graduate in the spring/summer of 2026 and who have received an offer of acceptance must graduate and deliver officially certified copies of educational documents no later than 17 August 2026 at 15.00 UTC+3. If your final degree certificate is not issued by our deadline, we require an officially certified written statement or provisional certificate from your university confirming the following:

  1. The statement/provisional certificate needs to clearly state that you have fulfilled the degree requirements by 17 August 2026 at 15.00 UTC+3 and have graduated.
  2. Must include name of the awarding institution, the name of the degree, your name and clarification that you have completed all the necessary studies according to the degree that will be awarded and the exact date of your future graduation.
  3. Must bear the stamp and signature of the awarding institution.
Degrees completed in Finland

If you have completed your degree in a Finnish university or university of applied sciences, you are exempt from having to submit officially certified (attested) and/or legalised copies of your educational documents. Tampere University will verify your educational documents using a national database, with the exemption of the National Defence University (Maanpuolustuskorkeakoulu) and Åland University of Applied Sciences (Högskolan på Åland). For instructions for graduates of these educational institutions, see  the country-specific requirement for Finland. However, if you have graduated in the spring / summer of 2026, you do need to send copies of your final documents by email to the Admissions Services.

The preferred methods of delivering officially certified and/or legalised documents are submitting electronically verifiable documents or requesting the awarding institution to deliver the documents by email directly to the Admissions Services. If you are unable to submit your educational documents using one of these methods, it is also possible to post the officially certified and/or legalised documents.

When submitting documents by post, first check if the country-specific requirements apply in your case. These requirements may apply to one or all of the required documents. Please note that if there are country-specific requirements only for some of the required documents, the other documents must be submitted according to the general document requirements.

Note: Educational documents from China must always be submitted according to the country-specific requirements regardless of submission method.

When submitting documents, note that we do not accept

  • regular photocopies of educational documents sent by post

OR

  • officially certified copies issued by notaries public in other countries without legalisation.
