PSYKE is the teaching and research clinic of the subject of psychology at the University of Tampere. PSYKE engages in professional practice development work in psychology, client work, teaching and research. PSYKE's activity is linked to other functions of the psychology discipline as its own unit of activity.

Research activities at PSYKE focus on the fields of neuro-, developmental and educational psychology of children and their confluences.

In addition, we carry out neuropsychological rehabilitation of children and adolescents, neuropsychological examinations and work guidance for psychologists and health care professionals.

PSYKE also organises various trainings every year, for example related to diagnostics of the autism spectrum and neuropsychological group rehabilitation. In addition, we organise individual seminar days and trainings.

Research

The research activities of PSYKE are located in the fields of neuropsychology, children's developmental and educational psychology and their intersections. Key areas include various studies of psychological interventions, the development of assessment and rehabilitation methods and related services.

A research project aimed at early identification and support of children with autism spectrum disorder.

Siili research project: Early support for reading abilities

A study on the effectiveness of the ESKO Siili groups intended to support the reading abilities of preschool-age children in cooperation with the City of Tampere.

Effects of neuropsychological group intervention for children

A joint study by PSYKE and the Children's Neurology Unit of TAYS, which examines the effectiveness of the group rehabilitation method TOTAKU.

Vision - based user interfaces for cognitive and behavioral remediation of ADHD

A collaborative research project between PSYKE and TAUCHI (Tampere Unit for Computer Human Interaction) on the use of interactive technology-enabled rehabilitation games as part of group rehabilitation for children.

Cognirem research project

iN TUNE: Assessing and supporting emotion regulation and social competence of children with neurodevelopmental conditions

The research project evaluates and develops methods for assessing and supporting self-regulation and social functioning in children and adolescents with developmental neuropsychiatric difficulties.

Research project explores factors related to the way children in the school-age autism spectrum create and experience social connection.

Research Group: Psychoterapy and anxiety

Research group encompass interrelated studies on the fields of psychotherapy (cognitive therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy), clinical psychology, and youth mental health.
