About me

I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Tampere Institute for Advanced Study. I'm a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Psychology and hold the title of Docent in Social Interaction and Communication Research.

My research focuses broadly on social inclusion of neurodivergent children and adults and on addressing barriers to participation. I particularly build on qualitative, but also quantitative methodologies to understand neurodivergent social interaction and communication in different contexts. An important line of my research focuses on examining embodied communication using multimodal conversation analysis. Participatory research and people's lived experiences are central to my work throughout.

My work is fundamentally interdisciplinary, and I collaborate closely with researchers in fields such as social psychology, education, speech and language pathology, and linguistics, and I also engage with non-governmental organisations.
