By donating to Tampere University of Applied Sciences, you promote professional higher education which is needed and valued by Finnish working life.

Have an impact by donating

TAMK is one of the largest and most popular higher education institutions in Finland. Our more than 12,000 students form a dynamic and innovative ecosystem. Your support enables them to have an even better multidisciplinary education and participate in research and development. About 2,000 new professionals graduate from TAMK annually and offer their up-to-date knowledge and skills for working life.

All donations are valuable! Donations are allocated to development of the higher education institution (general donation fund). Donations of a minimum of €1,000 may also be allocated to one of our fields of study:

  • Forestry and Agriculture
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Medicine
  • Service Industries

You can also choose to donate a scholarship or a grant to support TAMK's work on research, innovation and development or arts. 

Donating in practice

How to donate

Donations amounting to less than €10,000 are made on an e-form and paid by online bank transfer.

A deed of donation is filled in on donations of €10,000 or more. The deed of donation is posted to Tampere University of Applied Sciences.

You can also choose to donate a scholarship or a grant to support TAMK's work on research, innovation and development or arts. Donating a scholarship or a grant can be done through the Tampere University of Applied Sciences Foundation.

Donations and taxation

Companies’ and communities’ donations of €850 - 250,000 are tax-deductible (does not apply to limited or unlimited partnership companies, Income Tax Act 57§). Donations of a minimum of €850 are paid to Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd’s bank account in one or several parts.

The Income Tax Act 98 a§, which concerns the donation deduction and took effect on 1 January 2016, prescribes that natural persons and death estates may deduce financial donations of €850 - 500,000 for science and art promotion purposes from their net earned income. The prerequisite is that the donation is made for a publicly funded university, higher education institution or a related university fund located in the European Economic Area. The donation deduction aims at promoting private funding of universities and higher education institutions.

Tampere University of Applied Sciences has the obligation to notify tax authorities of donations made by natural persons and death estates.

Fundraising licence

Tampere University of Applied Sciences has a fundraising licence. Fundraising licence number RA/2024/11278 (awarded by National Police Board on 28.8.2024), licence is valid indefinitely in Finland with the exception of Aland.

Donations help build the future. They strengthen the capital base of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and enable new initiatives in research, education and societal impact. Donations are a key means of broadening TAMK’s funding base and supporting the sustainable, long-term development of higher education and applied research.
