Welfare Sciences
The Welfare Sciences Unit is doing research and teaching in logopaedics, psychology, and social work at Tampere University.
It offers education on the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. All three Degree Programmes lead to the qualification of professionals able to apply for registration in the register of authorised professionals kept by Valvira, the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health, and obtain the right to work as an authorised professional. Speech and language therapists, psychologists and social workers are all independent professionals who are needed in both the public and private sectors.
We operate in the Linna and Pinni buildings on the city centre campus of Tampere University, and in the University Consortiums of Pori and Seinäjoki.
