New app replaces Adobe Digital Editions in Ebook Central
You will still be able to read e-books directly in your browser using the online reader. However, to download an entire book to your device, you will now need to use the Ebook Central Reader App. Adobe Digital Editions will no longer work for downloading books from Ebook Central. If you have recently downloaded e-books using Adobe Digital Editions, your loans will remain valid until their expiration, even after the new app is launched.
You can install the Ebook Central Reader App from your device’s app store/from a link in Ebook Central. If you are using a Windows computer provided by Tampere university community, install the app from Company Portal (a new self-service software installation portal introduced with Windows 11). You can find Company Portal using Windows search.
Downloading books and registering the Ebook Central Reader App on your device require signing in to your Ebook Central account (click “Sign In” in the top right corner). For registering your device you will also need a 7-digit code. You will get it from the download page or under Profile – EBC app devices.
