Tampere University organises a mandatory Welcome Week for all new exchange students at the beginning of each semester. The Welcome Week will include programme both on campus and online.

The expected time frame for arrivals is 1 - 21 August 2022. Your <a href="https://www.tuni.fi/en/students-guide/handbook/uni/exchange-studies/information-exchange-students-university/registration-university-exchange-students">registration with the University</a> will take place online already before the Welcome Week.

A pre-arrival information session will be organised online on 26 July at 16:30 - 18:00 Finnish time.

The invitation to the meeting will be sent to all accepted exchange students on 23 June 2022. The slides and the video of the meeting will be published here as well.

During the Welcome Week, you will receive information on studying at Tampere University, our student guidance and counselling services, the Student Union and <a href="https://www.tuni.fi/en/students-guide/handbook/uni/exchange-studies/information-exchange-students-university/registration-authorities-new-exchange-students">registration with the relevant local authority</a>. As a part of the Welcome Week programme, some faculties may arrange information sessions. Please notice that main <a href="https://www.tuni.fi/en/students-guide/handbook/uni/exchange-studies/information-exchange-students-university/registration-courses-and-study-practices-exchange-students">registration for courses</a> happens during July-August and perhaps during the first days of the Welcome Week, but the deadlines for registrations can vary in different courses.

We know that starting university can be a daunting experience and a big adjustment, especially when it involves moving to another country. But be assured that there are plenty of other students in the same position as you are and we will do our best to organise some get together events as well.

All Welcome Week presentations (and almost all live meetings and information sessions held on Zoom/Teams) will be uploaded to the Welcome Week's <a href="https://moodle.tuni.fi/course/view.php?id=1398">Moodle course page</a>, which you will be able to access with an activated TUNI user account.

Welcome Week programme, autumn semester 2022 - live meetings and recordings

The language proficiency evaluation tests for language studies within the following degree programmes will be organised during the Welcome Week. The tests are organised on campus and are compulsory for all students planning to select courses from these study fields. The required language level for language studies are C1 for English and B2 for all other languages. We are unable to make any exceptions.
