The Huawei Fund of the Industrial Research Fund at Tampere University of Technology gives out student recognition awards
The Huawei Fund was established in 2020 to support research and education in the field of information technology at Tampere University through the award of grants and scholarships. In addition, the Huawei Fund gives out annual student recognition awards.
The awards, which were now given out for the first time, were presented to the winners on the Hervanta campus of Tampere University on Friday 3 December 2021.
Huawei Best PhD Student Paper Award
The Huawei Best PhD Student Paper Award is worth €1,000. The award was granted to 10 doctoral researchers.

Huawei Best Bachelor’s Thesis Award
The Huawei Best Bachelor’s Thesis Award is worth €400. The award was granted to 22 students who received the highest grade for their bachelor’s thesis in the academic year 2020/21.

Professor Joni Kämäräinen from the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences finds that both the award-winning bachelor’s theses and PhD student papers are of outstanding quality.
“The awards recognise the excellence of not only our information technology students but also the research conducted in information technology at Tampere University,” Kämäräinen says.
The Industrial Research Fund at Tampere University of Technology has had a mission to support research and other activities conducted at Tampere University in the fields of engineering. The Industrial Research Fund fulfils its mission, among other things, by giving our grants and scholarships. The main sources of income for the Industrial Research Fund are donations and bequests.
