Finnish Cultural Foundation awards nearly €2 million to researchers at Tampere University

Researchers at Tampere University have secured close to €2 million in grants from the Finnish Cultural Foundation, which has allocated €29 million to support scientific research, the arts and cultural activities in Finland.

The Finnish Cultural Foundation awarded 784 grants under its October 2025 call for proposals.

Researchers at Tampere University received a total of €1,194,000 in funding (43 grants).

The Foundation’s call attracted an unprecedented 11,425 grant proposals. The success rate was 8.2% for research proposals and 5.9% for proposals in the arts and culture. The majority of the funding was allocated to artistic work and doctoral research.

The Foundation awarded 160 multi‑year grants, including six four‑year grants. Nine Tampere University researchers received multi-year funding. 

In the October 2025 call for proposals, the largest single grant was awarded to support the reopening exhibition of the National Museum of Finland.
