Company Introduction: Perel Oy

A brief overview of your company, what do you do?
We are a Finnish family-owned business. We import electronics, measuring instruments, cleanroom supplies, lighting products, manufacturing machinery and materials, as well as control room furniture and IT supplies. However, our offering goes beyond just products; we also provide services to support them.
We have our own maintenance organisation that services and calibrates the equipment we import. We install and integrate production machinery into our customers’ production lines. We build modular cleanrooms with a “turnkey” approach. We produce ESD solutions in collaboration with our partners. We work with designers to select components. Additionally, we organize training sessions on both measurement techniques and ESD-related matters.
What are your company’s policies on remote work?
Since the pandemic, we’ve transitioned to a hybrid work model whenever the nature of the work allows it. Remote work was already familiar to our traveling product managers before the pandemic, but we didn’t really use that term for it back then. In any case, even before the pandemic, work was often done remotely, for example from hotels. Now, with permission, this can also be done from home for half of the workday. For office staff, the change has been more significant.
What are your employees particularly satisfied with right now, and what does the future look like?
We have exceptionally long career spans. This is also reflected in our employee surveys, which generally score highly. Freedom and flexibility are cited as the most important factors contributing to satisfaction. Both are based on trust. Trust is a valuable choice for us.
In the near future, we will continue with hybrid work according to the current model. We aim to combine the benefits of both work styles by holding meetings in person and creating opportunities for interaction on office days. In this way, we aim to preserve the innovations that arise from discussions while also incorporating the deep focus enabled by remote work into the equation.
