Oma esittely

Antti Saari is an associate professor (tenure track) in the Faculty of Education and Culture. His primary research interests include the sociology and history of expert knowledge in education, as well as educational philosophy and theory. Saari is the leader of the research group Political Philosophies and Sociologies of Education (POISED).

Saari’s research focuses on two main themes:

  1. The intersection of expert knowledge and educational governance, including how psychological and sociological discourses are translated into practices of evaluation, classroom management, and instructional technology. In particular, he has studied psychological discourses on subjective well-being, particularly in the context of positive education and mindfulness, as well as the role of psychological theories and learning concepts in shaping educational governance.
  2. The application of psychoanalytic theories to examine truth, power, and subjection in education.
