Cancellation terms – Open UAS

Registration is binding . Cancellation of enrollment does not lead to a refund of the tuition fee or exemption from payment. However, there are a few exceptional cases where you may be eligible for a refund or exemption:

  • If you have been accepted to a degree study place at Tampere University of Applied Sciences or a study place in the open path studies of Tampere University of Applied Sciences, you can cancel your enrollment in the Open University of Applied Sciences course free of charge if done before the course starts. If you cancel due to acceptance of a degree study place, you must submit the acceptance letter or acceptance email to avoinamk [at] tuni.fi.
     
  • If you have been accepted into path studies or have accepted a degree study place at any Finnish higher education institution, you can cancel your enrollment in path studies free of charge if done before the start of path studies. If you cancel due to acceptance of a degree study place, you must submit the acceptance letter or acceptance email to avoinamk [at] tuni.fi.
  • If you fall ill with an illness that prevents you from starting your studies before the commencement of studies, a refund of the fee or part of it may be considered on a case-by-case basis based on a medical certificate.

In all cases concerning refunds, please contact avoinamk [at] tuni.fi. If you are seeking a refund based on your admission as a degree student, you need to provide us with an admission letter or an admission email to the address avoinamk [at] tuni.fi.

If Tampere University of Applied Sciences has to cancel a course, study module or path studies, no fees are collected, and any paid fees are refunded.

How to cancel
Before the beginning of your studies, you can only cancel your place according to the instructions in the registration confirmation email. After the beginning of the studies, cancellations can only be made by email to the address avoinamk [at] tuni.fi. The studies are considered to have begun on the day of first contact teaching class or in case of online studies on the start date given in the course description. Non-attendance is not considered a cancellation.
