Suggest university Alumnus/a of the Year 2023

This year, all the friends, alumni, students, and employees of Tampere University can propose their candidate for the title of Alumnus/Alumna of the Year. Tampere University confers the Alumni of the Year award to a prominent national or international ambassador who has done significant and pioneering work. The honorary title holder is elected every year. We hope that the appointment will highlight the multidisciplinary expertise of our University and the diverse networks of our alumni. The Alumni of the Year will be announced at the opening ceremony of the new academic year in September.

The current holder of the Alumni of the Year title is Director at Finnish Institute of International Affairs Mika Aaltola. After the merger of Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere in 2019, CEO Suvi Haimi was the first Alumna of the Year of the new Tampere University. The Alumna of 2020 was Prime Minister Sanna Marin and Alumnus of 2021 was the then President of Kalmar Automation Solutions at Cargotec Antti Kaunonen. Whose turn is it next? Which expert and from which field should be entitled to represent our university as the Alumnus/a of the Year?

Suggest an Alumnus/a of the Year to the University

You can suggest a person for an Alumnus/a of the Year to the University who has

studied or worked at Tampere University of Technology, the University of Tampere or their predecessors
enhanced the reputation of the university
been pioneering in his or her work field
acted as a social influencer at home or abroad
fostered interaction between the University, society, and alumni.
