International Political Economy Research Group

Tampereen yliopisto

The International Political Economy research group was established in October 2022. The group seeks to support and strengthen the study and teaching of themes related to international/global political economy at Tampere University.

The group understands International Political Economy (IPE) in a permissive and pluralist way. Broadly understood, IPE analyzes the interaction between the economy and political actors and institutions beyond national settings.

Permissiveness and pluralism are visible in the group's theoretical as well as methodological approaches. Members of the research group work with various IPE theories as well as with interdisciplinary approaches and seek to cultivate methodological inventiveness in the study of international political economy.
