Universities of applied sciences (UAS) offer a practical and working life oriented approach to higher education. This affects the way we teach: group work, projects and practical study environments and internships have a key role in our education.
We require our students to be active and take responsibility of their own learning. However, you can also get support from both our staff members and student organisations.
The hierarchy between students and teachers is relatively low in Finland. Students often address their teachers by their first name. Students are engouraged to ask questions, make comments and argue their opinions.
