Overall objective of the project "National RDI Integration Development Programme for Master Degrees" is: Comprehensive development of RDI integration in teaching, the RDI-based learning approach, and methodological competence in Master’s degree education (YAMK).
There is an evident need to target national follow-up development actions on the integration of research, development and innovation activities with teaching. As YAMK education is a unique form of continuous learning
intended for professionals already in working life, the TKIO theme is also distinctly characteristic of this degree type and requires development resourcing specifically targeted to it.
Background
The project is a continuation of the National Development Project for
Master’s Degrees in Universities of Applied Sciences (VaKe). The VaKe project has responded to the need to develop YAMK education in a goal-oriented and coordinated way as part of the overall framework for continuous learning, involving all universities of applied sciences
in cooperation. As a background for development, the VaKe project, designed based on surveys on the current state of YAMK education conducted by Arene and the YAMK Education Development Forum, has extensively addressed the following themes: pedagogical competence
and new educational solutions, RDI activities and collaboration with working life, accreditation of prior learning, cross-institutional studies, as well as the profiles and shared concepts of YAMK education.
Goal
Project Objectives:
Overall Objective: Comprehensive development of RDI integration in teaching, the RDI-based learning approach, and methodological competence in Master’s degree education (YAMK).
Action Line 1: Research-oriented, Development-oriented and Innovation-oriented Learning (hereafter RDI Learning) in Master’s Degree Education
Action Line 2: Research, Development and Innovation Methods and Development of Teaching Competence
Impact
The project is targeted nationwide at all universities of applied sciences, and its goal is to develop the entirety of YAMK education as national inter-institutional cooperation so that the whole better meets the evolving needs of continuous learning, working life and society, and supports the development of continuous learning and its practices both in working life and in universities of applied sciences.
The project will produce operational models that can be disseminated and
widely utilized within the UAS field as part of national continuous learning development work and strategic structures.
