Advancement of Resilient and Innovative Higher Education in Ukraine - ARISE (EDUFI - TFK)

Tampere University
Duration of project1.8.2024–31.7.2026

Since August 1, 2024, the Higher Education Group (HEG), Faculty of Management and Business, coordinates the project Advancement of Resilient and Innovative Higher Education in Ukraine – ARISE (ARISE), funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) as part of the Team Finland Knowledge (TFK) Programme. The 2-year project aims to address the need for developing and preserving human capital in Ukraine by providing targeted leadership and management training for young professionals in higher education studies.

The project finances the development and implementation of the study module ‘Higher Education Policy and Management in Emergencies’ for Master and PhD level students at Ukrainian partner higher education institutions. The module implementation will take place in a hybrid format: with an on-site course delivery at Tampere University (TAU) (Tampere, Finland) realised through a short-term incoming student and staff mobility from Ukraine to Finland, and an online course component administered by Ukrainian partner higher education institutions (HEIs) for a wider outreach in Ukrainian higher education community.

The project will contribute to strengthening academic cooperation in the field of higher education management between Ukraine and Finland, develop capacities of Ukrainian partner HEIs in preparing a new generation of higher education leaders for recovery and reconstruction of the higher education sector of Ukraine, and deepen knowledge of the Finnish higher education community for partaking in rebuilding projects in Ukraine.
