Tero-Petri Ruoko appointed as Assistant Professor of Photochemistry at Tampere University

Tero-Petri Ruoko obtained his doctorate in Physical Chemistry at Tampere University of Technology, Finland, in 2017. After his PhD he worked for three years as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Laboratory of Organic Electronics at Linköping University, Sweden. Dr. Ruoko returned to his Alma Mater Tampere University in 2021 and joined the Smart Photonics Materials group led by Prof. Arri Priimägi as a postdoctoral fellow, studying light-responsive electrically active materials. His research was awarded by reputable Finnish and international funding agencies, such as the Research Council of Finland 3-year postdoc funding (2021) and the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship (2022).

His newly established research group Spectroscopy and Light-Active Materials (SLAM) is a part of the Chemistry & Advanced Materials (CAM) research cluster, the PREIN Flagship on Photonics Research and Innovation, and the LIBER centre of excellence. The group focuses on the fields of advanced time-resolved optical spectroscopy, spectroelectrochemistry of organic electronic devices, and high-efficiency light-emitting materials.
