On Thursday 15 May, newly appointed professors at Tampere University delivered their inaugural lectures, showcasing their research to the scientific community, external stakeholders and the general public. This year, 21 new professors gave inaugural lectures.

New professors delivered brief lectures, providing an overview of their research, along with the latest achievements, future directions and key questions in their fields. The lectures took place across all three campuses, culminating in a joint celebration held in the Main Auditorium (Päätalo) on the city centre campus in the afternoon. Both the lectures and the afternoon celebration were streamed live to accommodate remote participants.

The inaugural lectures were part of Tampere University’s Year of Celebrations 2025.

Thank you to all attendees and congratulations to our new professors!
