Truth or lies? Are attempts being made to influence us through dishonest means, and how can we sift out the seeds of truth from a sea of misinformation? Media literacy and understanding of information disorders—disinformation, misinformation, and malinformation—are crucial in today’s information society. The library’s new thematic collection explores questions of media literacy and the spectrum of information disorders.

The Media Literacy and Information Disorders theme collection includes books on topics such as media literacy, propaganda, and dis- and misinformation. The collection is intended for anyone interested in disinformation and critical media literacy, especially students of information and media studies, communication, and journalism.

The collection was curated by information studies students Anni Lehtonen and Janette Mäkinen.
