Industry cooperation is Tampere University’s strength in THE ranking

Tampere University retained its position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, placing once again in the 301–350 bracket.
THE rankings assess more than 2,000 universities worldwide. For the third consecutive year, Tampere University achieved its highest scores in industry engagement, which includes external research funding from businesses and patents generated through academic research.
In the ranking, industry cooperation means external research funding received from businesses and patents that have been innovated in research. However, this measurement pillar only accounts for 4% of the ranking result.
Nine Finnish universities were included in the ranking, with Tampere University sharing fourth place nationally alongside the University of Turku. The University’s position within the top 350 has remained stable in recent years. Since the establishment of Tampere University in its current form, its highest position in THE ranking has been in the 251–300 range, placing it among the top 300 universities globally.
The ranking evaluates universities based on indicators related to teaching, research, industry collaboration and international outlook.
The University of Oxford topped the global ranking this year.
