At Tampere University’s Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (ENS), we have strong basic natural science research as well as applied research in the fields of automation, mechanical engineering, robotics, materials, and environmental engineering, which creates a signicant added value to our industrial partners and society.

Tampere University (TAU, www.tuni.fi/en) has a longstanding experience in MSCA actions. We make a substantial effort in MSCA PF calls and have achieved high success rates over the years. We are preparing now for the 2023 call which is expected to have a deadline of September 13, 2023.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) 2023 Call 

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) belong to the Horizon Europe framework programme. Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) is one of the MSCA’s main funding actions enabling 1-3,5 years long individual projects in Europe (European Fellowship) or other countries (Global Fellowship). MSCA PF is for postdoctoral researchers coming from another country than the hosting institution is located. The call is aimed at promising researchers with a purpose to promote their career development. This action provides opportunities both within academia and other sectors

What does the funding cover? 

The beneficiary receiving EU funding needs to recruit the researcher for the total period of the fellowship. The EU provides support for the recruited researcher in the form of 

  • A living allowance 
  • A mobility allowance 
  • If applicable, family, long-term leave and special needs allowances 

Funding is provided for 

  • Research, training and networking activities 
  • Management and indirect costs 

Proposal writing webinars - Masterclass 2023 

Research Services at TAU have extensive experience in supporting researchers in applying for MSCA PF funding. The support includes practical advice, training and improving the quality of MSCA PF proposals. In addition, a webinar course series called MSCA PF Masterclass 2023 will be organized for the seventh time during May-June 2023. The most important Masterclass sessions will be recorded and be available online. All potential researchers applying for MSCA PF funding to TAU will be invited to the course. This Teams based Masterclass is highly recommended for all MSCA PF applicants.

Several research groups at the ENS faculty are currently looking for postdoctoral researchers to actively co-develop succesful applications towards the MSCA PF call of 2023.

If your research theme matches our research profile and you are committed to the proposal writing process, please express your interest by sending the following documents in PDF format:

  • CV (max. 2 pages) 
  • Description of a tentative research plan to be proposed to the MSCA PF -program (max. 2 pages) 
  • Declaration of eligibility (This will be double checked by the research support staff.) Eligibility details on MSCA PF official webpage.
