Antti Lönnqvist appointed Vice President of Tampere University

On 6 February 2025, the Board of Tampere University appointed Dean Antti Lönnqvist as Vice President, based on a proposal by President Keijo Hämäläinen. The Vice President’s role involves developing the implementation of the university's strategy and is for a fixed term until the end of 2028. Tampere University will now have four Vice Presidents, responsible for education, research, partnerships, and strategic development.

The new Vice President aims to promote the university’s operational management, quality work, and support services based on knowledge management, thereby enhancing the faculties’ operational capabilities in a changing environment and supporting the university's strategic goals. Antti Lönnqvist is a professor of knowledge management at Tampere University, has served as Dean since 2017, and was previously the Director of the School of Management at the University of Tampere.

Following this appointment, Tampere University will have four Vice Presidents: Marja Sutela (education), Tapio Visakorpi (research), Jarmo Takala (stakeholder relations and partnerships), and Antti Lönnqvist (strategic development).
