Applying to Tampere University master’s programmes

Application fees are introduced

As per the Universities Act, an application fee applies for applicants from countries outside EU/EEA seeking education leading to a degree in higher education. For more information, see Studyinfo.fi 

On this website you will find instructions and important information on how to apply to the Tampere University master’s programmes conducted in English. The application period for master’s programmes conducted in English with studies starting in autumn 2026 begins on 15 December 2025 at 8.00 (UTC+2) and ends on 5 January 2026 at 15.00 (UTC+2). Applications are submitted in the national electronic application service at Studyinfo.fi, which is the official and up-to-date website with all the information about programmes leading to a degree in Finland.

Admissions step-by-step checklist

    Check the eligibility criteria

    Check the general eligibility and programme-specific eligibility criteria of the programme/s you wish to apply to. You are allowed to apply to two (2) programmes at the same time.

    Read the instructions

    Read through the instructions on how to apply. Start preparing your application documents as early as possible.

    Examine the language requirements

    Take a language test if required, please see the language requirements

  4. 4

    Fill in online application and pay application fee

    When the application period begins, fill in the online application form at Studyinfo.fi and upload all the required attachments to your application. The application period begins on 15 December 2025 at 8.00 (UTC+2) and ends on 5 January 2026 at 15.00 (UTC+2). The online application form will be available only during the application period.

    Pay the 100 EUR application fee by the deadline given in the email automatically sent from Studyinfo.fi. Follow the instructions written in the email to pay the application fee. For information on application fee, see Studyinfo.fi. If the application fee is not paid by the deadline, the application will be deactivated. In this case, you would have to fill out a new application and pay the application fee to have your application processed.

    Upload attachments

    All attachments must be uploaded to the application by 12 Jan 2026 at 15.00 (UTC+2). Missing documents will result in a rejection of the application. You are not required to send your officially certified documents at this time.

    Wait for the results

    The admission results will be announced by the end of March.

  7. 7

    Accept the offer and submit officially certified documents

    If you are offered a study place, remember to accept it by the given deadline. All accepted applicants will be required to submit officially certified or legalized educational documents by 29 May 2026 at 15.00 UTC+3, with the following exceptions: 

    1. applicants graduating in the spring of 2026, by 17 August 2026 at 15.00 UTC+3
    2. applicants who have already submitted officially certified or legalised educational documents and have been offered an unconditional study place
    3. applicants applying with a Finnish higher education degree, that is verifiable on the Finnish national database. 

    Note, if documents are not submitted by the deadline, the offer of admission will be cancelled.

    Pay the tuition fee

    Pay the tuition fee. If you want to take advantage of the Early bird offer, follow the directions in your acceptance letter email.

    Prepare for arrival

    Start preparing for your arrival in Finland well in advance.

    Register as a student

    Register as a student and join the Tampere University community when the studies start in August 2026!
