The Material characterization infrasturctures of the Photonics Laboratory at Physics Unit include facilities for optical, electrical and structural characterization of epitaxial and other photonic materials.

We have several surface analysis instruments that are dedicated to ultrahigh vacuum studies of surfaces, thin films, and interfaces.

The most important application areas are in photonics, optoelectronics, electronics, catalysis, materials science, and biomedical research.
