Collaboratively smart city

Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.9.2023–31.10.2025

In Tampere City, there is a wealth of data within the local ecosystem that, if leveraged effectively, could greatly benefit the entire community. By utilizing this data in innovative ways, we can create new applications and services that enhance the daily lives of Tampere's residents. The 'Yhtä Playbook' serves as a tutorial guide for developers, providing them with examples and resources to get started using data and APIs to create solutions that empower the people of Tampere in their everyday lives.

Goal

In the YHTÄ project, a good and tested practice is created for the implementation of an analysis pipeline cutting through the data ecosystem of the city of Tampere in the context of the urban community. In order for the ecosystem data produced by the city to be better utilized by different actors, there should be sufficient practical documentation and instructions on how to use data from the ecosystem for analysis. The project tests, makes transparent and presents good technical practices of what data management, data processing and artificial intelligence (AI) methods mean from the perspective of an individual city dweller, solution provider and customer/owner. The result of the project is the YHTÄ-playbook, which any software developer can use to build their own services that utilize the data produced in the ecosystem of the city of Tampere.
