About me

Postdoctoral researcher on commercialisation strategies. We have received Research to Business (R2B) funding from Business Finland to investigate the commercialisation feasibility of sensor calibration solutions for automated and autonomous solutions within the domain of mobile work machines (off-highway). Thus, I am trying to develop new business models and business strategies for our potential software solution for sensor calibration.

Additionally, I have also been involved in developing research-based frameworks such as the R&I Agenda and Knowledge Valorisation Framework within the SustAInLivWork Project in Lithuania.

My brief background:

  • Doctor of Science (Tech): Automation Science and Engineering. MSCA-ITN at Tampere University, Finland & Bosch Rexroth AG, Germany. Thesis: A Path Towards Business Cases for Automated and Autonomous Heavy-Duty Mobile Machinery : An Interdisciplinary Approach.
  • M.Sc.: Production Engineering. Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Thesis: Machinability of Crankshaft Steel: On the Influence of Batch-to-Batch Material Variations.
  • B.E.: Mechanical Engineering. University of Mumbai, Mumbai, India.
  • Junior Design Engineer at Tork Motors, Pune, India.
  • Co-founder of the Club of Indian Professional Engineers, Pune, India.

Responsibilities

  • Project manager for SenCAN: Sensor Calibrations Anywhere. Main contact for questions.
  • Investigate commercialisation strategies for SenCAN. This includes mobile work machine and sensor calibration market analysis; potential customer(s) identification; analysing potential customer needs; interviews/surveys with potential customers; and stakeholder analysis.
  • Develop business models for SenCAN. This includes investment/financing model analysis; IPR strategy; business model analysis; and pivoting strategy.
  • Communication and engagement for SenCAN. This includes pitching the project details to potential customers through presentations.
  • Design data collection, analyse data, and prepare the documents for deliverables led by Tampere University in the SustAInLivWork project.

Fields of expertise

  • Automated and autonomous solutions- broad and holistic overview of key theoretical and practical concepts.
    • Levels of Automation; Stakeholder Analysis; KPIs for autonomous mobile work machines; Prevalent theoretical focus, etc.
  • Business model analysis- applied the business model canvas and value proposition canvas in real-life industry scenarios.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration- Expertise in research collaborations and research methods from engineering, business, and management.
    • Qualitative (interviews, brainstorming, workshops, etc.) and Quantitative (surveys) research.
  • Communication- presentation and visualisation of complex topics for general audiences.

Mission statement

Bridge the chasm between engineering, management, and social sciences to ultimately contribute towards a sustainable future based on pragmatic, collaborative, inclusive, and accessible innovations.

Research topics

  • Commercialisation strategies: Strategic management; Business & innovation ecosystems; Stakeholder theory; Business models.
  • Autonomous solutions: Interdisciplinary engineering, business, & management perspectives for mobile work machines.
  • Automation & robotics: Levels of automation/autonomy; Sensor calibration; key performance indicators for autonomous mobile work machines.
