About me
I work as a University Teacher in Mechanical Design at Tampere University. My teaching combines over 25 years of practical experience in industrial design tasks with strong expertise in the use of 3D CAD systems. I am particularly interested in how design practices and ways of thinking can be effectively taught from the early stages of studies and how these skills are applied later in students’ careers. In my teaching, I place special emphasis on the needs of local industry and make use of collaboration with companies in developing course content and student projects.
Responsibilities
For bachelor's students, I teach the basics of mechanical design and 3D CAD and supervise CAD-related bachelor’s theses. For master’s level students, I teach exercises in structural design of machines and act as a supervisor for master's theses. I also serve as the responsible teacher for teacher tutoring and support students’ engagement in studies, especially in the early stages of their academic path.
Fields of expertise
My expertise covers mechanical design, product development, and industrial engineering projects. I have in-depth knowledge of 3D CAD systems, which I have used extensively both in industrial work and in teaching. In addition, I have wide-ranging experience in leading teams and design projects, as well as in working at the customer interface.
