Setting Up an iPhone
During setup, Microsoft Intune mobile device management will be installed on your device, creating separate personal and work profiles. Only work profile apps will have access to the TUNI network.
When setting up a new phone, keep your old phone with you until everything you need is fully functional on the new phone.
Start by inserting the SIM card into the phone, turn on the phone.
Select language and Region.
Unlock Your SIM by selecting SIM Card and enter the SIM card PIN code.
Select Continue Without Wi-Fi.
Select Enrol this iPhone at Remote Management view.
When the phone prompts for sign-in, use your TUNI email address and password.
Set up Face ID by following on-screen instructions.
Set a PIN code for your phone using at least a 6 digits
Be sure to remember your new PIN. If you forget it, all data on your phone will be lost.
Continue following the on-screen instructions.
Enabling mobile device management
- Select the Company Portal app from the Home Screen.
- Sign in using your TUNI email address and password.
- Under Set up access to Tampere Universities company resources, select Get started.
- Follow the instructions shown on the screen.
Setting up Microsoft Authenticator
- On a computer, open the following address in a web browser: https://aka.ms/mfasetup
- If necessary, verify your identity using the Authenticator app on your old device. If authentication with the old device is not possible, you can request temporary access at salasana.tuni.fi.
- Sign in using your TUNI email address and password.
- Select + Add sign-in method.
- Select Authenticator app and then Add.
- Continue in the browser by clicking Next until a QR code appears on the screen.
- Open the Authenticator app on your phone and follow the on-screen instructions until you can select Scan QR code.
- Scan the QR code shown earlier on your computer screen.
- Once the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app has scanned the QR code, you can click Next in the browser on your computer.
- Follow the instructions shown on both the browser and phone screens.
Adding an Apple account
You can choose to use your personal Apple account or a managed Apple account provided by the university. You can find more information about the managed TUNI Apple account at the link below.
