My favorite hobby is traveling and I want to explore new places. I also like to take photographs for gathering memory as I am the type of person who enjoys being nostalgic by seeing memories. This is the picture of my first summer in Finland. I was going Lapinkaari for a reason, I saw the place from the bus and then while returning I got down and took a moment to enjoy this beautiful nature.

I am Alpona Shirin, a master's student in Teaching, Learning and Media Education. I am from Bangladesh and my bachelor was also in majoring in Education. My dream was to explore the world's best education system and now I am enjoying this Finnish education system and its independent style of education a lot. I am fond of traveling and exploring Europe gradually.

Did you develop any special skills while studying in Tampere?

The skills I developed most are communication skills and also exchanging cultural views.

What tips would you give to new students who are applying to study here?

My advice for the new students is to focus on your goal, explore the courses and opportunities from the university website, choose the subject which suits you most, do some research on Finnish weather, culture and standards, explain your motivation and apply!

How do you get around the city?

I get around the city by bus and tram by using the Nysse app with student discount.

What is your favourite thing about the student culture in Finland?

The thing I like most is the scope of exchanging socio-cultural views and internationalization.
