"I think Tampere is one of the best places to stay and study"-a student ambassador story
How long have you been in Tampere and what brought you here?
I arrived in Tampere in August 2022 at the start of the fall semester. I always wanted to pursue master's degree from one of the best universities of the world offering high quality education in a friendly city.
What subject(s) do you study and what made you choose them?
I am doing master's in Wireless Communication and RF Systems. My ambition to pursue a master's in wireless domain has been the major source of my inspiration.
What do you like most about Tampere and Finland? What has been the most surprising or different thing about living here?
A number of things such as lakes and natural beauty that surrounds Tampere and particularly, Finland. The transportation system in Tampere is one of the best which makes commuting very easily.
What are your hobbies in Tampere? Have you tried out any new hobbies since coming here?
Tampere provides you with a number of opportunities. Since my arrival, I am regularly playing cricket and football and a number of indoors games such as badminton, floor ball and table tennis. Also, I have been joined some group exercise class offered at Tamppi arena at Hervanta campus.
What kind of student activities have you participated in?
I have been to a number of events such as marathon, beach party, learning activities organized by different guilds and clubs of the university.
What would you say to someone who's trying to decide whether Tampere is the right place to come to study and live?
I thinks it's one of the best place to stay and study. The faculty and the support staff at university is brilliant in their work and they help you alot to settle in the first place. The city ensures you get a good accommodation close to university campuses in a much affordable rate.
