After some decades of developing and implementing innovative business models in industry I decided to spend a few years to further the research of this area. Having been responsible for pay-per-outcome business model creation at Tamturbo, and a leasing model at Konecranes I figured these business models are the way in which equipment capabilities are more and more sourced in the future. But using these outcome-based business models requires more structure and knowledge, and this research can bring to the table. The modernization debt and sustainability requirements of especially the Western production facilities can only be dealt with new risk and reward sharing models - companies will not be able to use capital investments for all that needs to be done.
