Anne-Maria Laukkanen, FT, on puheen ja äänen tutkija ja puhetekniikan opettaja. Hän toimii puhetekniikan ja vokologian professorina Tampereen yliopistossa. Hän on myös Oulun yliopiston vokologian dosentti ja Tampereen yliopiston lääketieteellisen tiedekunnan puheen ja äänen tutkimuksen dosentti.

Hänen tutkintojensa keskeiset oppiaineet ovat olleet fonetiikka ja puheoppi. Klassisen laulun ja draaman opinnot /harrastus ovat suunnanneet kiinnostuksen ihmisäänen tutkimukseen ja johdattaneet äänenkäytön opettajan työssä.

Hänen keskeiset tutkimusaiheensa ovat äänenlaatu puheessa ja laulussa, ääniharjoitusmenetelmien vaikutukset ja niiden perusteet, äänen ylikuormittumisen vaikutukset ja mekanismit sekä eri tutkimusmenetelmien sovellettavuus vokologiseen tutkimukseen.

1990-luvulta lähtien hän on tutkinut erityisesti puolisulkuharjoitteiden (kuten putkeen ääntämisen) vaikutuksia toimien useissa monitieteisissä kansallisissa ja kansainvälisissä tutkimusryhmissä ja tehden useita tutkijavierailuja mm. Yhdysvaltoihin, Ruotsiin, Saksaan, Brasiliaan ja Tsekkeihin.
