KAT.VAST.208 Sustainable business practices, Lectures 5 op
in spring 2024, period IV 5.3.–16.5.2024
This course consists of 8 lectures. The lectures are held on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays at 13-16.
The lecture times will be confirmed in the beginning of 2024 as soon as the schedules have been agreed upon with visiting lecturers.
The grading of the course consists of a group presentation and a learning diary. Students are encouraged to write the learning diary in pairs but it is possible to write it alone.
Sustainable business practices course covers responsibility in various business models, practices and contexts, for example limited companies, cooperatives, social enterprises, public organisations, and hybrid organisations. Lectures include case exercises and visiting lecturers.

The student is aware of how social, environmental and economic responsibility are linked to and contextualised in business practices. The student understands the diversity of business operations and key features of different business models. The student is aware of the opportunities and challenges provided by different business models in creating societal welfare and stakeholder value. The student is able search and evaluate research information, and verbalise the acquired knowledge in written text.
Sustainable business practices course covers responsibility in various business models, practices and contexts, for example limited companies, cooperatives, social enterprises, public organisations, and hybrid organisations. There are two different completion options for the course. (1) Lecture course, which comprises of taking part to lectures and completing individual and group assignments. Lectures include case exercises and visiting lecturers. (2) Independent online course, which comprise of completing online assignments according to the students own schedule. The completion options are available on different times, so when enrolling to the course pay special attention to choosing the correct completion option.
