After completing the course the student knows the structures of engineering materials and understands the relationships between processing, structure, properties, and performance for metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. This course focuses on the elementary principles of the mentioned topics, and gives the student enough background knowledge to advance to the M.Sc. level courses.
