Prerequisites: completed a Bachelor’s degree at a university or university of applied sciences

In order to complete the studies you must have a good command of English.

You must submit the degree certificate in electronic format as attachment to your application (file format PDF, PNG, JPG) .

The course has a limited number of places. The places are filled in order of enrollment (on a first come first served basis). There is a quota of 3 for the Open University students.

When you have been admitted to the studies, you must enrol separately via the Sisu information system for the implementation of the unit of study and, for example if set, for a practise group of your choice. You will receive instructions on how to do this by e-mail after you have confirmed your acceptance of the study place by paying the required fee

-Local and global environments and their impact on health  -Ecological changes, such as climate change and biodiversity loss, and the key drivers   -Policy  initiatives and strategies to prevent and mitigate damaging changes in  local and global environments and the health consequences  -Assessing health and environmental impact  -Key  concepts, including Planetary health, One Health, EcoHealth, planetary  boundaries, environmental and ecological determinants of health,  sustainable food system

After successful completion of the course, the student  - understands how local and global environmental issues are interlinked with health  - knows the direct and indirect health effects of local and global environment   - knows key concepts and terminology used in the field of environment and health  -  is able to discuss solutions to prevent or mitigate the damaging  changes in local and global environment, and their relevance for health    - has skills to critically assess claims and policy initiatives concerning environment and health  - is able to take part in multidisciplinary work related to the promotion of health and environmental well-being
