The Innovation Ecosystem of Seinäjoki Industrial Areas – Seitti project aims to promote innovation activities among companies in Seinäjoki industrial areas by creating an active ecosystem-like network around it. The project builds upon the previous NKI (Research, Development, and Innovation) ecosystem feasibility study and aims to further develop the future of the business sector with concrete actions, emphasizing the industry's own strengths and focus. The project will produce a comprehensive situational overview and ecosystem description, clarifying the interdependencies among companies, environmental challenges, and innovation needs. Additionally, the strategy of the Tech Team will be strengthened to support ecosystem development.
The project will implement the innovation ecosystem and plan for long-term collaboration through continuous operation models and a roadmap. As a result of the company-oriented approval process, agreements will be made, and companies will actively commit to the ecosystem's activities. Furthermore, the project will focus on building networks between the industry and other stakeholders, promoting knowledge sharing and disseminating best practices. Overall, the project's objectives support the strategic priorities of intelligent and renewable industry, sustainable development, innovation, employment, and regional competitiveness.
The project implementation is divided into four work packages:
- WP1: Understanding and identifying needs and the field
- WP2: Workshop activities based on identified themes
- WP3: Planning and implementation of RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) ecosystem
- WP4: Management and communication
The project is led by Project Manager Jukka Mattila, Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.
