EUKIDS Online Finland

Finland has been part of the EU Kids Online network since 2009, with its national team remaining actively involved. The EU Kids Online Study II (2010) was conducted in Finland by Aalto University, and Study III (2020) by Tampere University, which continues to lead the research in Finland. For the Study IV data is collected via questionnaires online in November 2024. Respondents are children and youth aged 10-15 years old.

Questions are about their internet usage including digital media literacies. The study is focusing on the experiences online together with risks and youth possibilities for civic engagement. Current aspects in this round are youth critical awareness on artificial intelligence-based services online and disinformation in media. EUKIDS Online research in Finland (2024-2025) is funded by Media Industry Research Foundation of Finland (Media-alan tutkimussäätiö).
