The project supports the adoption, capabilities and application of new digital working methods in companies by providing information on new technologies and opportunities for their use.
The project solves challenges related to digitalisation, automation and robotics, which have been identified by companies, partners and stakeholders in the textile and clothing sector in Pirkanmaa. The project provides forums for co-development and produces concrete information, demonstrations and pilots to support the development of the digitalisation of companies and their value network. Through its measures, the project supports business growth, competitiveness, internationalisation and the promotion of a low-carbon economy.
Background
The Green Development Programme and related policy initiatives, the EU textile strategy and the digital transformation are challenging the textile sector. Companies in the textile and clothing sector in Pirkanmaa have recognised the need to introduce new digital solutions that promote business. The needs vary depending on the company's operations, size, positioning in the market and/or the manufacturing technology they use. The project involves actions that help companies in the textile and clothing sector in the Tampere Region to develop new, responsible business models through digitalisation.
Goal
The project has five objectives. The aim of the project is to find out the needs and opportunities of companies in the textile and clothing sector in Pirkanmaa in order to utilise digitalisation, automation and robotics in the company's product development and promotion of responsibility. The aim is to develop the competitiveness of companies in the textile and clothing sector in the Tampere region, internationalisation towards a low-carbon data economy. The aim of the project is to support the development of responsibility work for micro and small enterprises in the textile sector. The aim is to identify opportunities for the digital product passport, the sharing economy and the circular economy through new business models.

Impact
The network of textile, technology and software companies, responsibility and other actors, as well as research and education organisations created in the project creates a permanent operating model for the co-development and exploitation of digitalisation and new technologies. After the project, the project measures will strengthen the digitalisation, carbon neutrality and climate goals of the Pirkanmaa business and thus the business sector.
Companies can refine the technology and digitalization solutions and business and sharing economy models created to develop their own operations, to optimize their processes in line with the green transition, carbon neutrality and climate goals. After the project, the results can also be processed into new projects and the cooperation can be continued with new development projects, for example.
The public material and documented practices produced in the project will remain available to companies.
The results of the project are available to everyone, which means companies that want to develop existing business or develop a whole new one, as well as communities and other educational institutions. The results of the project are published in channels open to all, such as professional journals, blogs. The aim of the project is to strengthen the textile and clothing value network In Pirkanmaa, national and international development projects related to the promotion of digitalisation will also be implemented in the future.
