Circular Economy Models in Namibia: Capacity building project develops circular economy expertise and thinking of local actors especially focusing on bio- and recycling-based materials. It also conducts a stakeholder analysis and develops ecosystem of different actors because ecosystems have a central role in development of circular economy value chains and business models. The project consists of three work packages and last for 18 months.
Background
The need for the development of circular economy (CE) in Namibia is obvious based on both economic, environmental, and social sustainability. At the beginning of November 2023 started a joint project with Tamper University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and Tampere University (TAU) aiming at the capacity building of circular economy in Namibia. The project, funded by Finnpartnership, supports the feasibility study of a Finnish company.

Impact
The capacity building supports the business partnership project of a company aiming at developing circular economy (CE) business model in Namibia. In long term both projects aim to contribute green transition in southern Africa.
