The thesis process

  1. 1

    Consider the topic

What is the question, challenge, or problem your organisation wants the thesis to provide additional information, solutions or development proposals for? Please describe this briefly.

  2. 2

Find a student and agree about writing the thesis

You can advertise the thesis placement for free on the JobTeaser service. If you are using JobTeaser for the first time, go to the JobTeaser login page, enter your email address and click Log in/Register. Begin by filling in your personal details and your company’s name and branch. After that, your recruitment account is complete, and you can submit your first advertisement.

  3. 3

    Appoint a supervisor

Appoint a person from your organisation who will participate in supervising the student during the thesis project. Please ensure that the person has enough time and resources for supervision.

  4. 4

Agree on the scope and implementation method

Before the work begins, hold a kick-off meeting where you negotiate with the student and their supervising teacher or professor about the scope of the thesis project, the implementation method and related practices. The implementation method affects the cost of the work, the required agreements and the ownership of the rights to the thesis outcomes.

  5. 5

Enable the implementation of the thesis project

The student writing the thesis needs content guidance from both Tampere University and the designated supervisor from your organisation.

  6. 6

    Publishing the thesis

A public thesis can be used by your organisation and others interested in the topic. Tampere University is responsible for publication.
