As we have all seen, AI is playing an increasingly important role in how we use and retrieve information. Elsevier has integrated generative AI into its Scopus database, and Library has acquired the Scopus AI tool for trial use.

Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database, for which an add-on using generative AI, Scopus AI, has been developed. Scopus AI is based on the use of natural language, meaning that you can write your questions or hypotheses in normal language, regardless of keywords or Boolean operators.

Based on the question or hypothesis you entered, Scopus AI searches for publications published since 2013 and uses their summaries to create an answer, i.e., a brief summary of the topic. The summary includes references to reference articles found in the Scopus database. In case you want more in-depth knowledge, you can continue exploring with the help of an extended summary, concept map, basic publications in the research area, and expert sections on the subject.

Library has arranged a four-week trial period for testing the Scopus AI tool.

You can check out the service here: Scopus (Elsevier). The material can also be found in the library Databases from the A-Z list as well as on Andor search service.

We welcome feedback on the trial so that we can evaluate the acquisition of the tool for our permanent range of services. Feedback form.
