Join us for a 2-hour online pre-arrival information session designed to help you feel confident and well prepared before starting your exchange studies at Tampere University in the autumn semester 2026. This session is intended for all newly admitted exchange students and will give you a structured overview of what to expect, what you need to do next, and where to find support before and after your arrival. All admitted students will receive an email invitation in June 2026, including the session link and practical details. If you are unable to attend live, don’t worry – the presentation slides and a full recording will be shared by email after the session.
During the session, members of International Mobility Services and student organisations will guide you through key topics, including:
- An introduction to Tampere University, our campuses, and the higher education community
- How to plan your studies and prepare for final course registrations
- Important next steps and practical matters to take care of before arrival
- Identification and registration processes at the university
- How to activate and use your TUNI account and essential digital services
- Key deadlines you should be aware of before and at the start of the semester
- International student tutoring and how tutors support you before and during your exchange
- Student Union membership and how to apply for your student card
- Erasmus+ certificates, confirmations, and other required documents
- Using the university mobile app to connect with other students before you arrive
- Living with TOAS student housing – what to expect in everyday life
- Greetings from INTO and ESN FINT, including their services, events, and trips for exchange students
We will also address questions that you have submitted in advance, and there will be live Q&A time at the end of the session so you can ask anything that is still on your mind. Additionally, we’ll host a Finland Quiz, where you can test your knowledge and win some great prizes. This session is a key part of your pre-arrival preparation, and we strongly recommend attending to ensure a smooth start to your exchange in Tampere.
