Biographies
Juuso Kelkka
Juuso’s area of expertise is power electronics and embedded systems. For several years, he has specialized in electric powertrains, electric energy storages and Li-ion battery management systems for both industrial machines and passenger vehicles.
He has an M.Sc. degree in Electronics design along with hands on experience of designing, assembling and testing high voltage embedded systems. He started his career in 2005 as an electronics designer in the telecommunication industry and quickly specialized in high frequency switched mode DC-DC converters. He switched to the automotive industry in 2010 when he joined Valmet Automotive as a project engineer. During his career in the R&D sector he has worked in several projects as a system architect, and project manager. In these positions he has gathered a comprehensive knowledge base and deep understanding of design work, testing, test automation, manufacturing technology and system architecture. He has also attained valuable international experience working on assignments at the premises of automotive OEMs as well as managing Asian cell manufacturers in their cell and BMS development. From late 2016 until late 2020, he held several project management positions along with a line organization manager position for the Electrics and Electronics team, responsible for electrics, electronics and software design.
In late 2020, he took on a new role as the Senior Manager of Technology Development. In this position, his responsibility was to steer VA’s technology expertise in order to meet strategical goals, seek for opportunities to go beyond current state of the art and improve the competitiveness of Valmet Automotive. After the rebranding, he is continuing this work under the new company name – Ioncor.
