Conferment of Doctoral Degrees

The Conferment of Doctoral Degrees is intended for doctoral graduates from all the faculties at Tampere University and its predecessor institutions – Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere – who have not yet participated in a doctoral conferment ceremony. Registration for the event has ended.

The main event of the three-day festivities, the Ceremonial Conferment of Doctoral Degrees, will begin at noon on Saturday 7 June at the Tampere Hall Main Auditorium. Watch a live stream of the Conferment Ceremony starting from 12.15 on Saturday at https://vimeo.com/event/5167384/2e0adb31f9.

After the Conferment Ceremony, the Conferrers of Degrees, honorary doctors, doctors, the University’s management and professors will form a procession to walk to the Tampere Cathedral and Tampere classical upper secondary school for church service and a secular event. The procession is expected to set off from Tampere Hall at approximately 15:55 and it will follow the route of Yliopistonkatu – Tammelan puistokatu – Vellamonkatu – the Rongankatu tunnel – Rongankatu – Rautatienkatu – Satakunnankatu – Tuomiokirkonkatu. The procession can be watched from the pavements along the route.
