Publishing support

Tampere Universities have two institutional repositories. We promote open access by self-archiving the researchers publications in institutional repositories whenever the publishers copyright policies allow this. In most cases the theses of Tampere Universities are published openly.

Trepo

Open institutional repository of Tampere University, includes

• Theses by Tampere University students
• Monographs, series and self-archived articles by Tampere University staff
• Open Access books by Tampere University Press

Trepo is a popular database and we are monitoring the downloads of the publications. During the year 2021 there were over 2,9 million downloads in Trepo.

Theseus

Open repository of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland, includes also 

• Theses by Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) students
• Self-archived articles by TAMK staff

During the year 2021 there were over 1,6 million downloads for the publications of Tampere University of Applied Sciences.

Tampere Universities publish theses openly unless prohibited by the terms of an external publisher. The Library publishes theses openly in the open repositories of Tampere Universities if the author allows this.

Guide for submitting and publishing your thesis

The collection Monographs and series in Trepo is intended for the publication of reports, working papers, faculty series, etc.

Publication cover template (TAU) has been designed for you to use. You can see it in Marketing Material Bank and order the cover from Tampere University's printing supplier Grano.

Tampere University Library gives the ISBNs for the publications of Tampere University. You can also request ISSNs for the new Tampere University series.
