TAMK’s Master’s degree programme explores modern media technologies

TAMK's Master's Degree Programme in Emerging Media is all about exploring the infinite possibilities that new media technologies have to offer. The studies nurture entrepreneurial attitude including practical work and research.

– In this degree programme, new media technologies are combined with content creation, art, audio-visuality and design. Also, sustainable development plays a remarkable role, says Principal Lecturer Leena Mäkelä.

The idea for the degree programme stems from an Emerging Media Production minor originally designed for the Media and Arts degree programme. 

– Some of the inspiration originates from different research and customer projects at Mediapolis. The projects are about new media technologies and Emerging Media programme supports them very well, Mäkelä tells.

The degree programme is targeted to media professionals, artists, musicians and designers who wish to develop their skills in the field of media. The Master's Degree Programme in Emerging Media also welcomes applicants from other fields, if the suitable skills and experience are met.
