Have you considered that noise pollution is also a problem under the surface of the water? Although disadvantages are known, there are currently no laws or regulations in place to regulate under water noise levels.

Okko Outinen, who works at the Finnish Environment Institute, is familiar with the topic as he maps and analyses noise pollution levels in the Baltic Sea. The aim of his work is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the effects of noise pollution on the biota of the Baltic Sea region and to produce information that can be used to promote the well-being of underwater life now and in the future.
