Tampere Conversations 2024
Tampere Conversations is an international discussion forum and networking event where academia, political decision-makers and the business sector meet. Tampere Conversations provides a much-needed forum for real conversations, including diverse voices and cross-sectoral dialogues. In 2024, the theme of the event is AI: Labor Market, Regulation and Productivity.
The pace of artificial intelligence development, along with the discourse surrounding it, is rapidly accelerating. AI represents a powerful force of change, and its impact on society is pervasive. What are the potential impacts of AI on job displacement, and how can we proactively address the challenges? How does AI affect the productivity of businesses and public administration? How can we address bias in AI system algorithms and ensure equitable decision-making processes? How should AI be regulated without compromising competitiveness? How does all this affect our daily lives?
Discussing the topics are the most distinguished speakers and experts in the field, among others:
- Juliette Powell (Researcher, Entrepreneur),
- Daniel Susskind (Economist, King's College),
- Daron Acemoglu (Economist, MIT), and
- Mary Legere (Managing Director, Global Defense at Accenture, Lieutenant General, Retired).

Tampere Conversations event is primarily aimed to politicians, decision makers, business leaders, technology experts, cybersecurity professionals, and reseachers.
Live event at Tampere Hall is by invitation only due to the defined target audience and limited space. Online streaming, articles and other online content are open to everyone.
